It’s finally happening — your brother from another mother is finally tying the knot! From throwing the groom his dream bachelor party to taking care of all the guests at the wedding, you and your crew are all set to help your buddy with the big day. However, with so much to plan and execute, you may have overlooked yourself. These 10 sartorial commandments are all you need to get ready for your best friend’s wedding.

Coordinating is not just for team bride. If matching outfits seems too far-fetched, the gang can stick to a common element like an accessory or colour theme. Try a pocket square, brooch or scarf in the same colour or print.

Indian weddings are all about colour so make sure you think beyond white and black. Opt for bright colours and jewel tones for the traditional pre-wedding functions and baraat. Turn to pastels for summer and beach weddings. A cocktail or sit-down dinner, however, demands a suit or tuxedo.

Choose fabrics like silk and velvet for winter weddings. Not only are they warmer, but they also look regal. Linen, cotton and khadi work like a charm for summers.

Many pre-wedding functions like the haldi and mehendi take place during the day. Don’t forget to apply oodles of sunscreen and wear your sunglasses, especially if the functions are being held outdoors.

Carry a contingency outfit, just in case your luggage gets mixed up at or there is another mishap, like a stain or tear.

As a groomsmen, you will be extremely busy. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, don’t forget to take care of yourself! While getting a haircut and grooming your beard might be your priority, don’t ignore your hands and feet. Give them some TLC with a relaxing manicure and pedicure before the wedding kicks off. Also, carry your grooming essentials like your shaving kit, face wash, and moisturizer so you can look your best each day.
