Shade of the Season: Oyster
Ranging from minimalistic to statement-makers doused in embellishments, the oyster shade polarised gold and silver, proving that it can become an ideal starting point for your trousseau and wedding wardrobe curation. Tarun Tahiiliani’s artisanal craftsmanship glistened in the metallic shade, ready to shine along with the roster of red lehengas in the upcoming festive season. The renaissance of the bridal sari was reinstated by the newly-wed Parineeti Chopra in a Faabiana sari and a floor-grazing second dupatta.

Swirling in Pearls and Beads
Pearls became the talking point amidst the season of sequins with a game-changing vision. The ornamentation was more dramatic than ever on Tamanna’s showstopping lehenga from Vvani by Vani Vats, honouring the art-inclined choices of the modern bride. On the other hand, Bhumika Sharma brought a contemporary class to the fore showcasing lehengas, floor-length anarkalis overlaid with tonal ivory bead embroidery.

Prints of the Party Season
Artsy patterns morphed the dark colour palette signaling the party and holiday season choices for the end of the year. Raw Mango imbibed evening energy with innovative textiles that feature prints with an optical illusion and glittering metallics. All-eyes-on-me prints from SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi were highlighted with metallic touches and tassels, perfect for an al fresco tea party or a resort wedding.

Draped for Days
From resorts to runways and red carpets, Grecian drapes have been enjoying the spotlight no matter what the season. Flowy fabric manipulation took hold on Shivan Narresh’s showstopper look, donned by Athiya Shetty. Meanwhile, Amit Aggarwal redefined evening glam with a bralette and a curve-enhancing draped skirt ensemble rocked by Janhvi Kapoor that is worthy of ditching the gown for a gala.

Blooming in Winter
Designers revisited the timeless floral, albeit staying away from a summery vibe and refining it for after-dark hours. Mahima Mahajan’s ultra-feminine and voluminous silhouettes in the wispy floral printed fabric were all about her indigenous design language, yet refreshing with the rhapsody of colours like forest green and steel blue. Varun Bahl tapped into the vibrancy with floral printed overalls as well as 3-D cutwork-rendered floral motifs in zoomed-in sizes. On the other hand, Samant Chauhan borrowed inspiration from the delicate nature of glaciers displaying swirling floral embroidery in a tonal palette, adding a touch of minimalistic artistry to the creations.
