The silhouettes and weaving technique remain traditional, but we have added new textures, colours and cross border influences to it,” says Gaurang.

All the weaves take anywhere between three months to two years depending upon their intricacy. Preparing the yarns for jamdani takes a few weeks, but weaving it takes almost a year. I like to play with all the weaves to create a synergy between them in one ensemble.

Saris are timeless, They are my favourite choice for the big day. Lehengas came in much later in the mainstream Indian bridal scenario. The older generations always wore saris. They can be draped in different ways for individualistic looks. New-age brides ought to experiment with drapes, textiles and textures to make it your own!
